The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST Business School and Institute for the Environment), Civic Exchange and HKGFA are delighted to co-host a Fireside Chat with Dr. MA Jun to discuss the latest developments in taxonomies and green finance. Alongside COP26, other important meetings have been on-going to prepare for greening finance internationally so that investments could be better directed to support green projects. There is no better person than Dr. MA Jun to provide an update of those international discussions, and also in national discussions on green finance.
As the chairman and president of the Hong Kong Green Finance Association, Dr. MA will share with us the latest issues in green finance internationally and nationally. He has valuable insights too for Hong Kong in evolving itself into an international green finance center.
Dr. MA is the co-chair of the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group that is mandated to develop an evidence-based and climate-focused roadmap to align financial institutions’ efforts with the Paris Agreement. He also co-chairs the International Platform on Sustainable Finance Taxonomy Working Group for the People’s Bank of China working together with the European Union that produced the Common Ground Taxonomy report in November 2021, which is currently going through international consultation.
The Fireside Chat was moderated by Ms. Pamela MAR of the Fung Group, who comes with years of experience in eco-business and teaches a sustainability course at the HKUST Business School.
