CARE2022 features high-level deliberation on Climate Science, Policy, and Green Finance. With the high-level support from 4 Bureaux and 9 Government Departments, officials, business executives, financiers, investors, technologists, and climate action practitioners gathered and discussed Hong Kong’s adaptation and resilience planning in the face of climate change with HKUST scholars at the University’s three-day CARE2022 Conference, which was attended by a thousand online and in-person participants from 10-12 December 2022.

CARE2022 offers a timely discussion on three interrelated topics relevant to Hong Kong:

1. Hong Kong’s adaptation planning and projects, and regional resilience;
2. Nexus between adaptation and mitigation; and
3. Climate risks, resilience and emergencies, green finance, and talent.

Program

Day 1 - Science & Policy Day: CARE2022 was kick-started by a comprehensive sharing of Hong Kong’s adaptation plans and projects (Day 1 morning), followed by in-depth discussions on Adaptation (Workshop A) and Resilience (Workshop B).

Day 2 - Academic Day: The discussion was extended by academic scholars in greater detail (Day 2 morning) for the topics related to Excess Water Challenges and Forestry, Heat Stress, Infrastructure & Health.

Day 3 - Policy & Green Finance Forum: The conference was concluded by a high-level deliberation on issues relating to risks, industry, innovation, green finance, disclosure, trading, and talent (Day 3 morning).
