The concept of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) is gaining global momentum as countries seek integrated approaches to tackle climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainable development challenges. From restoring ecosystems to building climate resilience and driving green finance, NbS is reshaping how governments, businesses, and communities invest in a nature-positive future.
In Hong Kong, interest in NbS is also growing rapidly – driven by the city’s commitment to climate adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and the pursuit of a liveable, resilient urban environment.
How can cities harness global knowledge and local opportunities to mainstream NbS into its policies, infrastructure, and finance systems?
Join us at HKUST for an inspiring session featuring Mr. Charles Karangwa, Global Head of Nature-based Solutions Centre at IUCN, who will share global insights and lessons from around the world.
The session will begin with a local context briefing by Ms. Kitty Tam, Programme Lead of Hong Kong 2050 is Now, followed by a keynote address by Mr. Karangwa and a moderated Q&A discussion led by HKUST’s Prof. Christine Loh.
